Evaluation

I was tasked with designing a functional website with a video that is included on the site.

I had changed ideas for the site before production like the font that I going to use as I made it completely different as I did not like the font I was using. My website went well as all of the links on it worked and people were liking the layout and the font I decided to use. I think that the site went down well as a overall as it was all working smoothly in the end. However there was some things when making that annoyed me like getting my assets to work and look good was annoying as I had to cut out some of the image to make my site work. In my opinion my my site is not creative as it has been done before and the colours are very bland. I would say my site is pleasing as it is bland as all of the colours from the thumbnails.

I got told that in my original video I was very nervous as I was talking on my own but when some one join me to help me with my video and it improved my video a lot more then it was to begin with. The advantage of adding the video allows there to be more content on the site and allows me to express my feelings more for the game. The disadvantage is it takes a lot more time to add a video to a website as you need to edit it, recorded it and render it.

I would go back and completely change my video as I do not like the video it self I would not include myself in it.

I stored my work in a folder called Imedia and in the folder I had assets folder and also had folders for the units that were involved.

I used PhotoShop for my assets that I was making, PowerPoint for the actual making of the site, Xbox one For recording of game play, dslr for recording my face cam and premiere pro for the editing of the footage.

The file types I worked with were .mp4 and png as the video came out as a .mp4 and the images were pngs as I needed transparent images.

Proposal and Justifications

The product I will be making is a website based around me reviewing games that I have played I will be including my opinion of the game any why me and many other players like it.

The audience for my site would be for people that are looking to buy a new game and want to know reasons to buy these games and if some are even worth the £50 that some cost. I would also love the idea that this could also start people of playing games or even game of a genre they haven't played yet.

The purpose of my site is to review games so people can see if they would like to play these games and I would love to be represented as a professional review website that everyone would use to see if they would like the game or not.

The video will be of me with game play footage in the background. i will be talking about the objective of the game with the matching video about the topic.

Paperwork needed:
  • Location Release; So I can film inside the college.
  • Minor Talent Release; For anybody under 18 I use.
  • A Risk Assessment; This will allow me to identify any hazards such as, Trip Hazards (A tripod)

The only major risk I am in is editing my video and recording footage as it could damage my eyes if i do it for too long so i would take breaks to make sure I don't damage my eyes.

Hardware and software:
  • Photoshop: To make a poster for the film.
  • Premier: To piece the film
  • PowerPoint for Website design
  • DSLR: To film with.
  • A computer: To edit the film and make the website.
  • A Xbox one for game play
File Types:
  • PNG: The poster and the logo and any other images.
  • .mp4: The Trailer.
